In that case, you can follow the instructions in the following video created by IBM to solve this problem:
SPSS for Mac OS Big Sur (11.0)
This version of the operating system for Apple computers comes with a very important new feature: the M1 processors.
These chips have great advantages, such as greater autonomy and power, but the problem is that not all programs are compatible with their architecture.
Thanks to the Rosetta 2 technology included in these devices, it is possible to work with the IBM statistical package on an Apple computer with hardly any problems.
The only requirement is to download version 27 (or later).
However, as specified in the official IBM support forum, you may experience a crash when working with the R libraries.
For more information about this problem, you can access the official forum link.
SPSS for Mac OS Monterrey (12.0)
If you have an Apple computer with an M1 chip and the latest version of Apple's operating system, you should download version 28 of this software.
Although this version is still not compatible with ARM chips, Rosetta 2 is capable of running the statistical package.
It is possible that bugs may appear and performance may not be optimal, but while waiting for IBM to release a native version for M1 processors, this is the best solution available.
Another option is to download SPSS for Windows and install Parallels on your Mac to run the version for Microsoft's operating system.
